Berisha Criticizes Government Reshuffle, Calls on Citizens to Unite Against Rama

Sali Berisha, the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania, held a live conversation with citizens on social media where he commented on the recent changes within the Albanian government.

During the discussion with the media, Saturday, Berisha addressed the transfer of responsibilities in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, following the replacement of Belinda Balluku by the newly appointed minister Enea Karakaçi.

Berisha strongly criticized Balluku, saying she appeared before ministry staff “as if she were a hero,” despite what he described as serious allegations of corruption. According to Berisha, her public appearance — which included applause from ministry employees — was a direct challenge to Albanian citizens.

He also claimed that Balluku denied any wrongdoing using remarks he alleged were prepared by Prime Minister Edi Rama, insisting she had achieved major successes and had not been involved in corruption.

“These are dramatic developments,” Berisha said, arguing that the situation could damage the future of the country.

The opposition leader called on citizens, regardless of their political beliefs, to unite in order to remove Rama from power as soon as possible, describing the prime minister as a “major national threat” to Albania’s future.
