National Assembly convened by Former Leader of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha has decided to cast Saturday a secret ballot on the dismissal of the leader of the Democrats, Lulzim Basha, from the position of chairman, during the proceedings of the delegates’ gathering.

According to the self-resigned leader of Democratic Party Youth Forum (FRPD) and MP Belind Këlliçi, this decision issued by today's Assembly will be put to a referendum in every branch of the DP on December 18, which is also the day when Chair Basha will hold his own National Assembly.

"Pursuant to Article 43 of the statute of the Democratic Party, upon the proposal of a group of delegates, the National Assembly decided to vote by secret ballot of the delegates for the dismissal of the leader of the Democrats, Lulzim Basha, for seriously damaging political interests.

Voting will take place during the Assembly. The sheet contains the question. Do you agree with the dismissal of Lulzim Basha? The decision-making issued by the Assembly will be put to a vote in each branch of the Democratic Party on December 18, 2021.

The ballot paper in the referendum should contain the question. Do you agree with the decision of the National Assembly to dismiss Lulzim Basha? This decision is approved by open voting and enters into force immediately", said Këlliçi.
