Duadev Competing for Albania Wins Gold Medal in the European Wrestling Championship

Wrestler from Albania, Islam Dudaev, won the gold medal in the final of the European Championship that was held in Bucharest, Romania. He won against the Russian Gadzhimurad Rashidov in the category up to 65 kilograms in freestyle.

Dudaev competed on Friday in the category up to 65 kilograms in freestyle. In the first round, he defeated the Turkish Abdullah Toprak 6:3. In the second round he won 8:! To Stefan Ion Coman of Romania. The Albanian wrestler defeated the French competitor, Khamzat Aramerzouev, 4:0 in the quarterfinals.

Dudaev won the semi-final 3:1 against Ali Rahimzada of Azerbaijan. 

Dudaev is from Dagestan, Russia, while he is Chechen and race for Albania. From 2022, the 29-year-old competes for Albania. 

In 2022 he won bronze medals at the European Championships in Budapest. That year he also won bronze medals at the Mediterranean Games.
