Heated Clash in Albanian Parliament as Taulant Balla Provokes Opposition

During Thursday’s parliamentary session, Socialist MP Taulant Balla caused a huge debate with the opposition members by directing a remark to Albana Voshki: “For you, Albana, I have the number 0900.”

The comment, referencing the 0900 numbers historically used for paid phone lines, sparked immediate tension. Opposition deputies moved toward the podium, prompting intervention by parliamentary security and the temporary suspension of the session.

Gazment Bardhi, head of the Democratic Party parliamentary group, confronted Balla, condemning the remark as insulting and unacceptable toward a female MP. The incident highlights the growing confrontational tone in recent parliamentary debates in Albania.
