Former Democratic Party (DP) candidate for MP in the 2021 elections, Qani Xhafa, was arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning after being involved in a road accident.

According to sources, Xhafa was drunk at the time of the accident, which happened on "Qemal Stafa" boulevard in Elbasan.

It is learned that Qani Xhafa, who was traveling in a drunken state, collided with the traffic divider on the road. After the accident, Xhafa was arrested by police officers.

Qani Xhafa ran for the DP in the general elections of 2021 in the city of Elbasan, where he was ranked 8th on the list, after Luciano Boçi. Also, Xhafa will become a MP after Luciano Boçi will leave the mandate because he will compete for mayor in Elbasan in the local elections on May 14.
