The Albanian Road Authority (ARA) has completed the tender procedure for the construction of the remaining part of the New Ring Road, while according to the data processed, the limit fund for the procedures that are expected to be announced during September is about ALL 16 billion, or EUR 132 mln.

There is a total of 7 lots, for which a tender will be opened. Three of them include the construction of the segment from “Eagle” square to the New Boulevard and bridges over the river, at a cost of ALL 7.57 billion, or EUR 62.5 million. For this segment, ARA reviewed the project during 2020 and according to the documents of a year ago, the facility will start at today's end point, which is the roundabout "Eagle" and will continue along the road "Vangjel Noti". Then it will intersect with the road "Adem Jashari" and will continue in an area of ​​new construction. It is then planned to continue further with the crossing of the Tirana River through a bridge, to be developed on the left side of the Tirana River, next to the Paskuqan hills to the point of meeting with the New Boulevard of Tirana. The length of this segment is about 3 km.

Meanwhile, the other 4 lots include the construction of the Outer Ring of Tirana, with a total cost of EUR 69.5 million. This segment starts after lot 3, near Shkoza, which is currently under construction, descending to the northern side of Kodra e Priftit and then the Ring enters the area of ​​Kinostudios.

Then the ring road continues to the North, descending through the bed of the Gjerosa Stream, towards the Tirana River and then joins the segment Babrru – River Bank – Kamza Turn. The total length of the segment from Sauk to the Tirana River is 10,750 km. The opening of this competition was announced a few days ago by the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku. Meanwhile, some days earlier, the Minister of Transport and the director of ARA, Ervis Berberi, inspected the works in "Eagle" square, where according to them, the works in that lot have been completed by 50%.

"The Great Ring Road of Tirana is taking shape day by day. In lot 2 of this project, the overpass of the ‘Building with Arrows’- 'Eagle' square, 50% of the works have been completed, while about 300 employees have been engaged to make possible the completion of this work in the shortest possible time. Work is being done at a high pace in other lots as well. We will not stop until the full completion of this work so important for the capital", wrote Minister Balluku on social media.
