The fines imposed by the inspectors belong to the period 2015-2024. The Tax Administration announced that 16,877 taxpayers have benefited from Euro 29.9 million in automatically erased/erased debts.
The Tax Administration emphasizes that it continues to implement the process according to the provisions of the law, in support of formalization and easing the burden on taxpayers.
Also, previously, the Taxes announced that so far, liabilities worth Euro 332 million have been written off or extinguished for 122 thousand taxpayers. 19 Fiscal Peace agreements concluded for the 2026 tax period. The Tax Administration welcomes every taxpayer who voluntarily formalizes his business through Fiscal Peace. “The forgiveness process opens a new page with taxpayers on the eve of European integration in order to improve the business climate,” the Taxes emphasized earlier.
Meanwhile, the process continues for all beneficiaries according to the law. From June 10 to June 30, 2026, the payment phase for the benefit of conditional forgiveness of tax liabilities, fines, and late payment interest was also implemented, according to Law No. 86/2025.

Albania’s Law No. 86/2025 (the "Fiscal Peace Agreement") has faced fierce backlash from international bodies, local business communities, and political opposition groups. They argue the policy threatens rule of law, fairness, and foreign relations.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) explicitly warned that the policy severely damages long-term tax compliance and threatens overall economic stability.
The European Union strongly criticized the measure, viewing it as a major setback to Albania's anti-money laundering (AML) controls and international security obligations, which could delay its goal of EU integration.
