Former AKSHI Director Mirlinda Karçanaj Testifies at SPAK for Three Hours

Former National Agency for Information Society (AKSHI) director Mirlinda Karçanaj left the premises of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) after nearly three hours on Monday.

Karçanaj, who is subject to a compulsory reporting measure as part of the investigation into the AKSHI tender case, was accompanied by her lawyer.

She had previously been placed under house arrest, but Albania’s Supreme Court later eased the security measure to compulsory reporting.

Karçanaj is one of eight defendants in the case involving AKSHI tenders. SPAK is investigating suspicions of manipulation of public procurement procedures and preferential treatment of certain companies.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the allegations have not been established as proven guilt.
