The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Gabriel Escobar, has arrived this Thursday at the Democratic Party (DP) headquarters in Tirana, where he will hold the first meeting of his official visit to Albania. 

Escobar will meet with DP Chair, Lulzim Basha, meanwhile, US Ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim was accompanying the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Gabriel Escobar, in this meeting. 

It was the deputy chairman of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, and the general secretary of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi, who received the senior American official at the headquarters of the Democratic Party. 

Around 14:30, Escobar will have a meeting with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka. While at 17:00, he will meet with Prime Minister Edi Rama. Escobar's visit comes two days before the DP National Assembly convened by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha after the latter was declared persona non-grata by the US and after the suspension by the DP parliamentary group by the leader Democrat Basha that has brought a crisis in the PD.
