General Police Director Received by FBI Head

The Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Christopher Wray received in a meeting the General Director of the Albanian State Police, Gledis Nano during his recent visit to Washington DC. 

The US Embassy in Tirana has distributed footage from the meeting and a message stating that Gledis Nano's visit "further strengthened the cooperation between the Albanian State Police and the US Government". 

In addition to meeting with FBI Director Wray, Mr. Nano also met with Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Department of Justice Bruce Swartz, Head of Narcotics Enforcement Administration (DEA) George Papadopoulos, and senior executives from the State Department Bureaus for Diplomatic Security and International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. 

"The visit to Washington stressed the US-Albania partnership and the importance of fighting corruption and organized crime in Albania through joint operations, training and close cooperation," the US Embassy wrote in a post on social media. 

According to the State Police, in the official announcement on the meetings of Director Nano in the US, it is stated that "FBI Director Christopher Wray congratulated Director Nano, for the courage and professionalism in running the State Police and confirmed the unwavering support of US law enforcement agencies for Police of the State. 

The visit strengthened the strong and cooperative relations between the Albanian State Police and the US government".
