The General Director of the State Police, Gledis Nano, received this Thursday the high delegation of the Guardia di Finanza, led by Brigadier General Giuseppe Arbore, head of Unit III of the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza. 

Also present at the meeting was the Ambassador of Italy in Albania, Fabrizio Bucci. During the meeting, the newly appointed Director of Police, Gledis Nano, praised the current cooperation between the State Police and their counterparts in the neighbouring country in the fight against drug trafficking and expressed readiness to strengthen this cooperation. 

“Gratitude for the excellent work that your team is doing in Albania, for aerial monitoring, which aims to prevent and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants. Thank you for the cooperation so far and I express my readiness and will of the State Police to strengthen this cooperation, as the fight against cannabis cultivation is one of the main priorities of the Albanian government and a personal challenge of mine as General Director of the State Police, to fight to the end this illegality, so I sincerely ask for your support and cooperation. I appreciate the work of the representatives of Interforce in Albania, for the coordination of actions and the exchange of information in time, for the prevention and cracking down on attempts for illegal trafficking ”. 

The Head of Unit III of the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza, Brigadier General Giuseppe Arbore, on behalf of the delegation, wished the Director General Gledis Nano success in his new task and offered him support for the realization of the priorities in his interest. two countries. 

“I appreciate your desire and willingness to cooperate and in response to your request, without hesitation, I immediately offer you that a representative of the State Police to be placed in the general command of the Guardia di Finanza, which will bring more efficient coordination and cooperation between the State Police and the Guardia di Finanza”. 

The Head of the Information Coordination and International Relations Department of the General Command, Brigadier General Cosimo di Gesu has offered to the General Director Gledis Nano, the opportunity for Albanian Police officers to conduct various trainings at the Guardia di School of Economic and Financial Police. Finanzas. 

The Ambassador of Italy in Albania, Fabrizio Bucci praised the cooperation so far between the State Police and the Italian one, promising an even greater support of the Italian Police and the Italian Embassy, ​​for the State Police. 

At the meeting it was agreed to hold a joint conference in November to present the results achieved during 2021 in the framework of aerial monitoring to identify and combat the cultivation of narcotic plants.
