Kurti: I Have Never Shaken Hands with Vucic

Albin Kurti has never shaken hands with Serbian leader Aleksandër Vucic. The Prime Minister of Kosovo revealed this detail during an interview for the Swiss newspaper "Republik".

"No never. This is because we have met three out of four times during the pandemic and there is still no final agreement", he said.

Meanwhile, Kurti talked about the dialogue with Serbia and the possibility of a conflict with the neighboring country. Kurti, speaking about the possibility of a conflict, said that Serbia is a client of the Kremlin regime.

"Serbia and Russia hold joint military exercises called 'Slavic Shield' and 'Slavic Brotherhood'. Most of the oil industry in Serbia is owned by Gazprom. The Russian Ministry of Defense has established its office within the Ministry of Defense of Serbia. Serbia receives tanks and weapon systems from Moscow. Germany is also dependent on Putin's oil. But what makes Serbia unique in Europe is that it refuses to support EU sanctions against Putin. Today, 70 percent of Serbs have a positive opinion of Vladimir Putin. At the same time, support for the European Union has fallen to an all-time low of 30 percent. This mood has also spread among the Serbs in Kosovo, especially in the north of the country", said Kurti, RTK broadcasts.

He further said that Kosovo is not afraid of conflict, but they are still vigilant. Furthermore, Kurti, speaking about the dialogue, said that the atmosphere during the meetings with Vucic in Brussels has improved.
