Landslide Fully Blocks Ura e Shtrejtë-Prekal Road in Northern Albania

The Ura e Shtrejtë–Prekal road has been fully closed to traffic following a major collapse of the roadbed, believed to have been caused by landslides after heavy rainfall over the past 48 hours.

The collapse occurred in an area known as “Shkallë Logje,” a problematic segment of the route, where large masses of soil slid onto the roadway, rendering it impassable and potentially dangerous for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Following reports of the incident, teams from the Shkodër Municipality’s Public Services Enterprise were immediately dispatched to the site.

Local authorities said the situation is being continuously monitored, while a more detailed technical assessment is expected to determine the extent of the damage and the interventions required to restore normal traffic.
