All prisoners infected by corornavirus will receive medical treatment in Shënkoll correctional facility of Lezha, prison authorities announced Wednesday.

Currently there are 40 detainees in the premises, seven of whom have arrived today from Drenova prison in Korca. The infected have been accommodated in 2 different buildings and are being treated by prison’s healthcare staff.

Meanwhile, the buildings of Shënkoll prison suffered damage from the earthquake of November 26, 2019 and all the convicts were transferred to other prisons, so only 70 pre-detained are serving sentences there.
