The OSCE Presence in Albania has reacted over the debate on the new elections of the General Director procedure.

In a short statement, the OSCE Presence in Albania welcome decision on suspending the procedure.

"The OSCE Presence in Albania joins cross-party support & Associations of Journalists, SCIDEV-Center, Safe Journalists in welcoming RTSH’s decision to suspend the General Director selection process. We call for a transparent, merit-based process ensuring fairness & accountability and we look forward to Monday’s hearing," says statement.

The election procedure, caused debates as only two candidates were considered to fulfill the conditions to run for the General Director of the public television, out of eight candidates.

The majority and opposition said that the election process was done wrong and the candidates elected did not fulfill the law requirements.
