The Interior Minister, Ervin Hoxha reacted after the event in Korca where the husband Bledar Trendafili, threw fuel and then put fire on his ex wife, Melisa Trendafili.

Minister said that these events are unacceptable, adding that domestic violence is a huge problem of the Albanian society.

Hoxha said that citizens must denounce domestic violence. 

"The serious incident that happened yesterday in Korça, where a husband in the process of divorce tried to burn his wife with gasoline, is an unacceptable act that reminds us that domestic violence is still a problem that cannot be ignored and that requires a response immediate by the responsible institutions and by the whole society. Such events are a serious violation of human rights and a strong appeal to provide stronger protection for all those who suffer from domestic violence, especially for minors, girls and women," said Minister.
