Meeting on the Situation Concerning the Salaries of Magistrates and Justice System Administration Staff

On September 8, 2026, the General Prosecutor convened a meeting at the premises of the General Prosecutor’s Office with the participation of heads of prosecution offices, representatives of the High Prosecutorial Council, and the Prosecutors’ Association to address the situation arising from the suspension of salary payments for August 2026 to magistrates and administrative staff of the justice system.
The meeting addressed in detail the situation arising from the suspension of salary payments and discussed the need to ensure full compliance with the legal and financial framework governing magistrates’ salaries, while safeguarding the normal and uninterrupted functioning of justice institutions.
All participants agreed that this issue calls for a prompt, clear, and lawful resolution, in line with the constitutional standards established by the Constitutional Court, while ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of justice institutions and safeguarding the rights of magistrates and administrative staff.
In this context, it was agreed to pursue the matter through the appropriate legal channels to reach a prompt and lawful resolution and ensure the sustained independence, stability, and effective functioning of the justice system.
