New Museum in Vlora Dedicated to Albanians and Jews Friendship
The friendship between Albanians and Jews since World War II, long documented in Yad Vashem, will have its symbol in Albania.
A Jewish museum will be built in Vlora as evidence of the coexistence of the Albanian Besa that saved the Israelis from Nazi persecution.
The preliminary design project for the Jewish Museum of Albanians developed by AADF in cooperation with the Ministry was approved by the National Council of Museums and the National Council for Material Cultural Heritage.
AADF, the Ministry of Culture and the Vlora Municipality are committed to cooperating in the establishment of the Jewish Museum of Albanians in Vlora, which will tell a unique story, dedicated to the coexistence of Jews and Albanians in time, which aims to become a cultural magnet for the historic area in Vlora.
The contemporary museum will be the only one of its kind in Albania and the region, in terms of mission, concept, architecture, management, governance, the model of exhibition and history telling, partnerships and community engagement, it is learned.
