The candidate for President proposed by Socialist Party (SP), Bajram Begaj, has arrived in the Assembly to attend the session where he will be voted as new President. 

The candidate Begaj arrived at the Assembly in the car of the Ministry of Defense. Bajram Begaj was nominated for President by 37 MPs of the Socialist Party, while it is expected to be voted in today's plenary session.

His name was made known yesterday by Prime Minister Edi Rama, following the meeting of steering committee of SP. Begaj was until today the Chief of General Staff, while President Ilir Meta accepted this Saturday his resignation, in this way paving the way for his election as new President.
