Nik Gjeloshaj Resigns as Mayor of Tuz to Become Montenegro's V.PM
Nik Gjeloshaj has resigned from the position as Mayor of Tuz municipality, as he anounced this Monday morning.
With the swearing in of the new government, he will become the deputy prime minister of Montenegro, as well as Minister of Economy.
However, Albanians will have a total of 3 ministries, where Fatmir Gjeka, Minister of Minorities and Marash Dukaj, Minister of Public Administration.
"Every challenge has a beginning and an end, but serving those who believe in themselves is a marathon that follows with more responsibility. The challenge entrusted to me by my fellow citizens 55 months ago to serve as mayor was a responsibility and privilege that I gladly accepted and worked every day with all my energy and vision to justify the trust given. I managed to do as much as I could, although I would have liked much more, but the opportunities did not always depend on us.
I am proud of how much we were able to do together with the extraordinary team of the Municipality of Tuzi! I am happy that the citizens of our municipality today have more infrastructure, more employment, more development and more attention to every problem they have. All these good works that we did together in 55 months have made Malesia more dignified. And I promise you that even with the new management of our Municipality, the same philosophy of work and dedication will continue! The work and the word kept by us in these 55 months as leaders of the Municipality of Tuzi, were essential elements that enabled the historic result in the June elections for the Albanian Forum, a result which burdens us with more responsibility to do more work only for Tuzi, but for all Albanians in Montenegro.
I am certainly not satisfied with the work done in Tuz, because I know that there is still a lot of work ahead and for this very reason, I have decided to take the responsibility that the citizens charged us to join the government and to do much more a lot of work for Tuzi and for all Albanian municipalities and the state of Montenegro.
This was a difficult decision for me, because emotionally Tuzi and the team of our municipality are very dear to me, but it was the moment to look beyond myself and take responsibility to serve all Albanians!
I am aware of the challenges that await us, because as I said, this is a marathon to work and develop the Highlands and the Albanians! The journey will be challenging, but my effort will be maximum to keep my word!
And I will do this with flesh and soul as I did in the Municipality of Tuzi. I cannot close this communication with you without expressing some very hearty thanks. Thanks to all the citizens of Tuzi for the trust and apologies for any unfinished business, but believe me I did the best I could and knew! Thanks to the super team of the Municipality for their work and dedication! I wouldn't be able to do it without you! Thank you to the diaspora for the incredible support to the Highlands! You are our oxygen! This is simply a goodbye and not a farewell, because we will continue the work we started now with the presence in the new government!", wrote Nik Gjeloshaj on the social networks.
