Nothing Bad Will Happen from December 6 Protest; Ex-PM
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha declared this Friday that nothing bad will happen from the protest called on December 6, which will be held in Tirana on the same day as the Summit of EU leaders.
During the weekly press conference, Berisha underlined that citizens in many states and cities protested on the days when summits were held, and that prohibition of such gatherings happens only in dictatorial countries.
"Protest is one of the most powerful ways for them to be heard, the protest is the voice of the citizens, your voice.
The freedom and right of citizens is above everything else and no other interest can deprive citizens of this right.
Today I want to pose the question to every citizen: What is the harm of the protest? What harm will happen to us from the protest?
No bad, nothing bad, only good, awareness, pressure, accountability, demonstration that we dare as free people.
Bad things happen when people don't respond, when they mumble what they want and when they are silent.
When the governments misinform the public opinion and this opinion is not contradicted, when the governments manipulate the inter-communities and the opposition does not say a word, the voice of the citizens on the street limits evil and bad governance", stressed Berisha.
