Oil Price Rises again, at ALL 189 per Liter

TIRANA - Since Thursday (March 4, 2026), the increase in oil prices in the domestic retail market has not stopped, due to the rapid changes that the price is undergoing on foreign exchanges.

After the start of the attacks in the Middle East, oil prices in the retail market have changed 3 times, reaching the level of Lek 189 per liter on Monday (March 9). Compared to the price before the start of the attacks, oil has so far increased by Lek 14 per liter.

An observation by business news provider Monitor results that in some retail points the price has increased again by Lek 7 per liter. From Lek 182, which was on Friday (March 6), the price of oil reaches the level of Lek 189 per liter.

The increase in the price of oil in the retail market began on March 4, by Lek 4 per liter. From Lek 175, the price reached Lek 179 per liter. The price of Lek 175 per liter had remained unchanged since October 2024. Then on March 6, the price increased again by Lek 3, reaching Lek 182 per liter.

The latest increase in prices in the retail market comes immediately after the changes that the price of oil experienced on foreign exchanges yesterday evening, reaching the level of US Dollar 100 per barrel. On Monday morning, the price reached 103 USD per barrel.

Before the attacks in the Middle East began, oil on the stock exchange was traded at a price of 65 USD per barrel.
