The Tax Administration has launched the process of refunding overpaid tax for individuals who have declared one or two dependent children in the Annual Individual Income Tax Declaration (DIVA) 2025.

According to the announcement of the General Directorate of Taxes, 34,263 individuals will benefit from this process, while the total value of the tax to be refunded amounts to Lek 517,731,642.

The refund is based on the data declared in DIVA 2025 and includes individuals who, after the final calculation of tax liabilities for 2025, have overpaid tax. The respective amounts will be transferred to the bank accounts declared by the beneficiaries.

According to the Tax Administration, this process represents a concrete benefit for families that have correctly declared dependent children and their income, enabling the return of the amounts due to them according to the tax legislation in force.

The tax authorities estimate that the refund not only supports family budgets but also encourages the correct declaration of income, contributing to increasing the efficiency, transparency, and reliability of tax administration.

Payments have begun and will continue for all individuals who have met the criteria for benefit and have correctly declared their data in DIVA 2025.
