PM Edi Rama Renews Dialogue Offer Ahead of Nationwide Demonstration

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reiterated his willingness to engage in dialogue with protesters as students, university professors and businesses prepare for a nationwide demonstration.

On Saturday morning, Rama posted a video on Facebook showing a table set up outside the Prime Minister’s Office, with papers bearing the word “Dialogue” placed on it.

“Good morning,” the prime minister wrote alongside the video.

The gesture comes amid ongoing protests in Tirana, where demonstrators have reportedly rejected chairs and stone benches previously placed outside the government building by Rama as an invitation to sit down for talks.

Protesters have been calling for the prime minister’s resignation, while Rama has maintained that he will not step down and has expressed his readiness to engage in dialogue.

The latest demonstration is expected to bring together students, university professors and representatives of the business community, amid mounting tensions between the government and protesters.

Despite the continued calls for his resignation, Rama’s latest social media post signals that his offer of dialogue remains on the table as the protests continue.
