PM Rama Reacts to Death of Well-Known Actress
Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the death of the well-known actress, Mimika Luca.
Next to a photo of the late actress, Prime Minister Rama wrote: "Farewell dear Mimika, you have already hugged Ndreka and this will make Gjergji stronger, I hope."
Who was Mimika Luca? The iconic actress was born on December 24, 1937 in the city of Gjirokastra. During her childhood she went through many difficulties, however she managed to follow her passion for art and especially for ballet. She performed as a ballerina on the stage of the Opera and Ballet Theater from 1951 to 1962, where she stood out for her talent and physical abilities.
After meeting her husband Ndrek Luca, an exceptional actor also for the interpretation of characters and artistic figures, Mimika dedicated herself with love to the dramatic art and where she was successful in her performances. She was accepted as an actress of the People's Theater, now the National Theater, in 1962.
During her 15-year career as an actress, Mimika Luca has performed in about 30 roles, among which we would highlight Lucia in "Noble Bourgeoisie", Tjen Ny in "Muri i Madh", Dila in the drama "Cuca e Maleve", Nica in "The general of the dead army", Laja in "When the foundations were laid", Sonja in "Uncle Vanja".
Her interpretation is one of the best in the drama "Light", a drama written by the actress herself. Mimika Luca also performs in many feature films such as "The train leaves at seven to five" "Tale from the past" "Taulanti is looking for a sister" and many others. In 1977, she was also appointed as a lecturer at the "Higher Institute of Arts", Drama branch.
