The private Albanian marina Cristian Marine from Durrës will participate in the World Conference of Private Navies in Venice, taking place from October 15–17. At this important event, Cristian Marine will represent Albania, accompanied by Monica Micheli Panozzo, organizer of the Balkan Sea Fair.

The Venice conference is organized by ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations), which brings together a wide range of national marine industry associations under one global organization. It represents the sector internationally, providing a strong and unified voice in addressing the challenges faced by the marine industry. Since its founding in 1966, ICOMIA has actively advocated for the international marine industry, working with authorities, regulatory bodies, and related organizations to foster and support the growth of the global recreational marine sector while ensuring compliance with international policies and standards.

The event’s local host is Vento di Venezia (VdV), operating under a public–private partnership with the Municipality of Venice. VdV is the developer behind the Certosa Island regeneration program.

The participation of an Albanian actor in this international conference helps highlight Albania’s growing profile as a tourist destination, with considerable potential for developing its private marina industry—an important segment of elite tourism. In this regard, Monica Micheli Panozzo has played a pioneering role as the organizer of the first Marina Fair in Orikum, the Balkan Sea Fair, held in May 2025. She also announced that the second edition of the BSF Albania Fair is expected to take place in October next year.
