Court Upholds Arrests of Protesters, Orders Reporting Requirements
An Albanian court has ruled the arrests of protesters lawful, while ordering them to report regularly to authorities, according to Top Channel journalist Anila Hoxha.
The prosecutor had also requested a ban preventing the protesters from approaching public institutions and areas where demonstrations are held, but the court rejected the additional measure.
Separately, a juvenile judge reviewed the case of a 14-year-old arrested in connection with the protest. The court also deemed his arrest lawful and imposed a reporting requirement.
The rulings come amid legal proceedings against individuals detained during the demonstration.
