Protesters Throw Eggs at Ministers’ Official Vehicles Outside Albanian Parliament
Tensions flared outside Albania’s Parliament on Monday as demonstrators gathered to protest against the country’s political establishment during a plenary session.
As government officials arrived at the parliamentary complex, the official vehicles carrying Interior Minister Bledi Çuçi and Tourism and Environment Minister Mirela Kumbaro were targeted by protesters, who threw eggs at the cars in a symbolic act of defiance.
According to witnesses at the scene, the eggs used in the protest had the names of lawmakers and Prime Minister Edi Rama written on them, underscoring demonstrators’ frustration with the government and the political class.
The incident unfolded amid heightened security outside Parliament, where protesters voiced their dissatisfaction with the country's leadership. No injuries or major damage were immediately reported.
