Protests against Government Enter 18th Day in Tirana

Hundreds gathered in the capital of Albania, Tirana on Wednesday as the protest movement entered its 18th consecutive day.

Demonstrators assembled at 'Skanderbeg Square' before marching along Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard and gathering in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, where participants delivered speeches addressing their demands and concerns.

One protester described a recent vote in the European Parliament regarding protected areas as a significant achievement for the movement.

“This is not a small victory. It is neither a coincidence nor a gift. It is a demand we have raised since day one, and today we have achieved a victory,” the protester said.

According to the organizers, today’s event will feature speeches not only from young participants but also from elderly citizens, highlighting broad public involvement in the demonstrations.

“We will remain here until those responsible for bringing this country to its current state are held accountable,” a young protester stated during the gathering.

As previously announced, the start of the protest was postponed by one hour, with participants beginning to gather at 7:00 p.m. instead of the 6:00 p.m. start time observed in previous days.

The protest movement has continued to draw participants from different age groups, maintaining its non-partisan character as demonstrators press for accountability and change.
