A 79-year-old Albanian has been seriously injured and has been taken to a hospital in Brescia, Italy, after being hit by a garbage truck. 

Based on the Italian media reports, the accident happened on Monday morning, while the elderly man is reported to be currently in a critical condition in the hospital. 

Investigators have found that the 79-year-old man was crossing the road when a garbage truck hit him. 

Although at low speed, the impact was violent, the 79-year-old man was thrown onto the asphalt, where he hit his head. 

On his part, driver of the garbage truck called the ambulance and then the police.
