Shullazi, Two More Dangerous Criminals Leave Special Isolation
Notorious former gang leader Emiliano Shullazi has left the cells of special regime called "41 bis", after his term of isolation has ended, along with Albjon Aliko and Genci Balla, two well-known names in the respective fields in which they operated.
For a long time, Shullazi has been fighting a legal battle to get out of the regime considered quite harsh, and he even decided to go all the way to the Supreme Court to demand his right to get out of that regime and he finally succeeded.
Meanwhile, Redjan Rrahja, Arber Çekaj, Aleksandër Llanaj, Viktor Ymeri, Klemend and Eldi Cali brothers are still isolated in the cells of "41 bis".
From last September, Emiljano Shullazi appealed to the Constitutional Court the decision about his stay in the "41 bis" isolation regime.
Shullazi's appeal to the Constitutional Court came after the appeal of the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (GJKKO) overturned his claims to get out of this strict security regime.
From August 1, 2021, Emiljano Shullazi's group, but also Arbjon Aliko and Genci Balla have been stying in isolation cells. He was sentenced in December 2018 to 14 years in prison for various criminal offenses.
Over the years, Shullazi has been detained and arrested several times by the Police for threats and possession of weapons.
In November 2011, he was released from prison after serving a sentence of seven years and four months for drug trafficking. For a long time, Shullazi has been described as a member and leader of a criminal group that operated on Kavaja Street in Tirana.
