Singer Fjolla Morina Arrested in Kosovo

The famous Kosovar singer Fjolla Morina ended up under the handcuffs of the Kosovo Police on Monday morning.

It is learned from reliable sources that she was arrested by the Kosovo Police, after being encountered by them in a bar in the Emshir neighbourhood of Pristina.

Fjolla is declared internationally wanted by Interpol, as she is charged with trafficking in weapons and ammunition in Albania.

This comes as a result of her arrest last year at the Kosovo-Albania border crossing, where she was caught with two revolvers in her car, accompanied by two male passengers.

Morina was kept under house arrest in Kukës for a month, meanwhile only in April of this year the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance in Kukës has filed the decision to declare her internationally wanted.

She was sentenced on March 25 by the Kukës Court to 9 years in prison, which after deducting 1/3 of the summary trial, became 6 years. The Prosecution had requested only 7 years, but the Court was tougher, as the Court had previously changed the classification of the criminal offense from illegal possession of weapons to arms trafficking, which aggravated the position of the singer.
