Socialist Party Condemns Opposition Boycott of Iran Terrorism Resolution

The head of Albania’s Socialist Party parliamentary group, Taulant Balla, criticized the Democratic Party’s (PD) decision to boycott Tuesday’s plenary session.

Balla said the session will vote on an urgent draft resolution to declare Iran a state sponsor of terrorism, calling it a priority for Albania and in support of U.S. efforts against Iranian terrorist activities.

“Anyone who instructed you to boycott this session does not wish well for you or for Albania,” Balla reacted.

He dismissed PD claims that the session violated parliamentary rules, noting that it was scheduled a month ago and approved in the Conference of Chairpersons. Balla also said the urgency of the resolution will be explained at tomorrow’s Chairpersons’ meeting, urging the opposition to reconsider their boycott.
