Strakosha Close to Signing New Lazio Contract

Lazio team are working to renew the contract of the Albanian goalkeeper, Thomas Strakosha.

Strakosha has lost a lot of his former brilliance, above all he has lost his status as a starter at Lazio. The red and black goalkeeper is only activated in the Europa League, while in Serie A, Pepe Reina remains the first preference of coach Sarri.

This is not an easy year for both Strakosha and Lazio, it is the year when the Albanian goalkeeper's contract expires, June 2022. Strakosha asks for more minutes to prove how much he is worth while Lazio in the worst case is forced to activate the goalkeeper to increase his value in the transfer market. Lazio does not want to lose for free the goalkeeper that Igli Tare discovered, for this reason they want Strakosha to renew his current contract.

According to Italian media, Lazio has offered Strakosha a new contract with a salary improvement of up to 1.5 million euros, but the goalkeeper's request is 2 million euros per year. The difference is not too big with the parties that can find a compromise to continue the cooperation between them, otherwise Strakosha can leave as offers for him are not lacking, moreover that in summer it is a zero cost operation.
