Sweden Removes Albania from 'Safe Countries' List

The increase of new cases with Covid in Albania in recent times has led many countries to classify it as a dangerous place for the spread of Covid.

Sweden is the next country to adopt new temporary changes to prevent the spread of COVID-19, where starting from Monday, Albanian citizens who want to travel to Sweden will be banned from entering the country for non-essential purposes.

Along with Albania, the entry has been banned for Serbia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Japan and Brunei, which have been removed from the list of 'safe countries'.

"The government has decided that Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Brunei, Japan and Serbia should be removed from the list of 'safe' countries and the residents of these countries are barred from entering, except those who live there. The decision is effective from September 20. These changes are the result of an update of EU travel recommendations adopted on 9 September 2021, based on information from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)," the Swedish government said in a statement.
