Tepelene, Man Arrested for Shooting Shepherd

Police of Tepelena have arrested this Tuesday the 30-year-old man, who injured a 59-year-old man with a rifle on the mountain of the village of Matohasanaj.

Conflict between the two shepherds started for weak motives and ended in the use of weapons.

Fortunately, the injured is in the hospital under the care of doctors and out of danger.

After arrest, the procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër for further actions.

"Operational room of the Tepelena Police Station has received a call that in the mountain of the village of Matohasanai, Lopës administrative unit, a citizen had wounded another citizen (both shepherds) with a firearm (rifle).

Police Services immediately organized the work and went to the scene, with the aim of catching the perpetrator.

As a result of the quick actions of the Police services, a 30-year-old citizen, resident of the village of Matohasanai, was caught and handcuffed, after he wounded with a firearm in the mountain of this village, due to a conflict for weak motives ( rifle), the citizen, 59 years old, who is under the care of doctors, out of danger to life", announced the police.
