Trump Meets Balkan Leaders After Peace Board Session in Washington
At the conclusion of a Peace Board meeting in Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump met with participating leaders, including Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani.
The three exchanged brief remarks during the encounter, though details of their discussion were not immediately known.
Earlier in his address to the gathering, Rama publicly appealed to Trump for assistance regarding former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army who are being held in The Hague. Rama said the former fighters are being held unjustly and risk conviction for their role in the war against what he described as ethnic cleansing carried out by Serbia in Kosovo.
There was no immediate response from Trump regarding Rama’s request.
