Turkish Woman Wanted Internationally on Terror-Related Charges Arrested at Albania’s Rinas Airport
Albanian Border Police at Tirana International Airport have arrested a Turkish national who was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by Turkish authorities.
The suspect, identified by her initials J. Y. (Julide Yazici), was detained at Rinas Airport for the purpose of extradition to Türkiye. The extradition process is being coordinated by Interpol Tirana in cooperation with Interpol Ankara.
According to Albanian authorities, Yazici had been sentenced by the Istanbul Serious Crimes Court to 4 years and 2 months in prison under a final court ruling.
She was convicted on charges of providing logistical support to a terrorist organization and membership in a terrorist group, according to the official statement.
Turkish authorities have been notified of the arrest, and extradition procedures are now underway.
