UK Embassy Urges Transparency in Selection of New Head of SPAK

The British Embassy in Tirana has issued a statement regarding the ongoing process to select the new head of Albania’s Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK).

In its reaction, the Embassy described the appointment of the SPAK Director as a “significant step” in Albania’s efforts to strengthen the rule of law and combat corruption.

“It is important that the High Prosecutorial Council conducts this process in a free, fair and transparent manner,” the Embassy stated.

The United Kingdom also emphasized its readiness to cooperate closely with whoever is chosen to lead the institution.

“The UK looks forward to working with the selected candidate, in order to continue and strengthen our excellent partnership,” the statement added.
