Deputy Commander of the Navy, Artur Meçollari has been fired, one year after being commanded in this duty.

It is learned that the dismissal came after Mecollari gave his consent for the preparation of the civil marriage ceremony on a military ship. He wanted to organize the wedding ceremony of a civilian, the son of a former military man. 

According to the Ministry of Defense, the dismissal came after he did not respect the security rules and violated the status of the military by organizing an event without the knowledge of the relevant structures.

Although the ceremony did not take place, the entry of foreigners, ie civilians on a ship and without any permission violates the regulations of the navy and the armed forces. According to the procedure, Mecollari had to report to the respective military structures. 

Meçollari was fired by order of the Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka, but he will continue to be part of the Navy.
