'Govt's Attempt to Control Online Media Hinders European Path'

Former MP of Democratic Party, Albana Vokshi stated this Friday the Government attempts to bring online media under control are reprehensible, endanger democracy, and hinder Albania's European path.

This reaction of the former MP came following an article in the German media, which says that the negotiations may not be opened for Albania, because Edi Rama has committed 2 anti-democratic actions: unilateral constitutional changes for the elections and the censorship law that endangers the media.

Vokshi assured that her party is by the side of every journalist and local and international organization that opposes censorship laws.

"Negotiations may not be opened to Albania, because Edi Rama has committed 2 anti-democratic actions:

1. Unilaterally changed the constitutional rules for elections
2. Endangered media freedom with censorship law

The conclusion belongs to the German media after Edi Rama's visit to Berlin, where he did not meet with either the Chancellor or the CDU leaders in the Bundestag.

The re-ignition of the anti-censorship alarm by Europe has to do with Edi Rama's new attempt to close critical portals with the government," said Vokshi.
