Protests Continue in Tirana as Hundreds Demand Prime Minister’s Resignation
The wave of protests in Albania shows no signs of slowing, as thousands of citizens took to the streets in central Tirana this Sunday, marking the eighth consecutive demonstration.
Gathering along the iconic “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard, protesters called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, voicing growing dissatisfaction with the government and its policies. The rally has become part of a sustained series of daily protests that have drawn increasing public attention.
Under the slogan “Albania is not for sale,” participants also expressed strong opposition to a proposed investment project in the Zvërnec area, which has become a central point of contention in recent weeks.
After assembling in Skanderbeg Square, demonstrators marched toward the Prime Minister’s Office, chanting messages emphasizing dignity and civic rights. One of the main slogans echoed throughout the crowd was: “Our voice, our dignity, our future,” which organizers are using to encourage continued public participation in the ongoing rallies.
Authorities have not yet reported any major incidents, while the protests are expected to continue in the coming days.
