'US Clearly Admitting Crime Has Impact on Albanian Politics'
Secretary-General of Democratic Party (DP), Gazment Bardhi noted this Monday that for the first time the US clearly states that organized crime has an impact on Albanian politics. According to him, the elections of April 25 last year proved such a thing.
His reaction came after former MP Aqif Rakipi was declared non-grata. Bardhi underlines that the identification by name and surname by the US of politicians associated with organized and corrupt crime is a standard that deserves respect and should continue. He says that only with US support can Albanian politics be cleansed.
"For the first time, the US clearly states that organized crime has an impact on Albanian politics, using money and violence to convey support to preferred candidates. The elections of April 2021, especially in Elbasan, proved this and the direct beneficiary and architect of this scheme was and remains Edi Rama.
Identifying by name and surname by the US politicians associated with organized and corrupt crime is a standard that deserves respect and should continue. Only with US support can Albanian politics be cleansed and governance returned to the people," Bardhi said.
