A 19-year-old man from Kosovo is believed to have drowned while swimming at Shengjin beach in northern Albania on Monday, according to Albanian police.

The incident happened at around 1 p.m. local time, when the young man, identified by his initials as Sh. S., was in the sea.

Emergency and investigative authorities responded to the scene shortly after the incident. Police said an investigative team is working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death.

Local media reports said the incident occurred in the Kune area of Shengjin, a popular coastal destination that attracts large numbers of visitors during Albania’s summer season.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the circumstances leading to the young man's death. The exact cause of death is expected to be determined through the ongoing investigation and forensic examination.
