Albania-Greece Joint Cooperation Center Opened in Kakavija
Albanian and Greek police held the opening ceremony of the Kakavijë Police and Customs Cooperation Center on Tuesday.
Deputy Minister of the Interior Andi Mahila, and Deputy Minister for Citizen Protection of the Republic of Greece, Elefterios Ikonomou, participated in this ceremony.
The Police and Customs Cooperation Center will aim to exchange information in real time, with the aim of preventing and combating cross-border crimes, mainly drug trafficking and goods smuggling.
Employees of the Albanian and Greek Border Police will work in this center. During the ceremony, Deputy Ministers Mahila and Ikonomou emphasized the importance of further strengthening the cooperation between the two police and customs authorities, in order to create as many legal facilities as possible for citizens who enter and exit this border crossing point.
