Albania Demanded Sanctions for Serbia after Banjska Attack; PM

At the annual conference, Prime Minister Edi Rama also commented on the relationship with the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, as well as on the terrorist attack in Banjska. Rama said that he has a relationship with Vucic which has nothing but the interest of Albania and the Region.

He added that the fact that this does not stop him from demanding the imposition of sanctions on Serbia after the terrorist act in the north and the removal of measures for Kosovo, because the latter took measures to destabilize the situation.

"My relationship with the president of Serbia is a relationship that I have spoken about several times and it is a relationship that has nothing but the interest of Albania and the Region.

Of course, it is a relationship that never prevents me and us from calling things the way they are. Our position has been clear and there have been no fluctuations, even when it was the case to say out loud that Serbia should not be sanctioned as a result of not sanctioning Russia, as this would bring dangerous consequences for the Region, as well as when Serbia made a flagrant act against all values by declaring mourning for the criminals of Banjska, as well as for the act of terror of Banjska itself.

We openly demanded that Serbia should be sanctioned and that the austerity measures should be removed from Kosovo, because Kosovo has already taken the step. It makes no sense for Kosovo to maintain austerity measures and Serbia not to have any coercive consequences after the act in Banjska," said Rama.
