Albania Has Officially Two New Ministers

The two new cabinet ministers, Bledi Çuçi and Milva Ekonomi, were sworn in this Friday at the Presidency.

The newly appointed Minister of Interior and the Minister of Agriculture, accompanied by Engjell Agaçi, Secretary-General of the Prime Minister, arrived at the Presidency around 12:25, where the swearing-in ceremony began, according to protocol.

The changes in the government came after the murder of 25-year-old Klodian Rasha by the police, in the alley near his apartment, as well as the protests that followed the event.

It was Prime Minister Edi Rama who announced the resignation of the Minister of Interior, Sander Lleshaj, while on December 16 he announced the new names in the government cabinet he leads.

Meanwhile, the President of the Republic, Ilir Meta decreed the new changes as soon as the Prime Minister submitted them at the Presidency.
