Albania Records More Than 14.6 Million Cyberattack Attempts in First Half of the Year
Albania recorded 14,628,595 cyberattack attempts between January and June, averaging approximately 56.4 attempts per minute, according to data released by the National Cyber Security Authority (AKSK).
The authority said that 54% of the detected attacks targeted important information infrastructures, while the remaining 46% were directed at critical information infrastructures.
The cyber intrusion attempts affected a wide range of sectors, including the financial system, public administration, digital infrastructure, the energy sector, and other areas considered essential to the country's operations.
AKSK said it continues to monitor cyber threats around the clock and strengthen defensive measures aimed at enhancing the security and resilience of Albania's information systems.
The authority did not provide additional details on the origin of the attacks or whether any of the attempted intrusions resulted in significant security breaches.
