Albania Sets Record of New Cases for 5th Day in a Row
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection announced on Saturday that another new record high was registered in Albania of new infections of Covid-19 as 1130 people have tested positive of the novel virus nationwide.
Ford the fifth day in a raw, a new record was set as figures keep growing day by day from 800 to 1130 infections/day in just a week.
Health Ministry informed that 4539 tests were conducted by public and private clinics in the last 24 hours whereas 1,130 citizens have confirmed positive for COVID-19.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, 84.212 citizens have resulted positive for the virus. On the bright side, 656 more citizens recovered from coronavirus in the last 24 hours taking the overall number of people who have been cleared of the virus to 50,875.
Besides the increase of new COVID-19 cases, there is also a surge of hospitalizations. Presently the four COVID hospitals provide treatment to 431 patients, 25 of whom are in intensive care and 12 have been put on ventilators. Health Ministry has also informed that 13 more people aged 28-80 years have lost the battle with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours as the coronavirus death toll has risen to 1,446.
Currently there are 31,891 active COVID-19 cases across the country.
