Albanian Gives Up MP Mandate in Montenegro's Parliament

MP Genci Nimanbegu has irrevocably resigned from his mandate in the Assembly of Montenegro. 

Confirmed for the Montenegrin media "Vijesti", it is known that Nimanbegu, in a letter addressed to the parliament, which has not yet been submitted, stated that he is resigning for political and ethical reasons. 

In the parliamentary elections, he was the holder of the list of the Albanian Alliance. 

Nimanbegu was elected deputy in the parliamentary elections of 2009, and then in the elections of 2012 and 2016. He has also served as the deputy speaker of the Assembly. 

He was a member of the Committee for Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning, in the Committee for Economy, Finance and Budgets and a member of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Montenegro to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. 

During the 27th meeting of the Assembly, he was: chairman of the Club of Albanian Deputies; Vice-Chairman of the Commission for Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning; member of the Commission for Human Rights and Freedoms, the Commission for Monitoring and Control of the Privatization Procedure, the Commission for Comprehensive Electoral Reform and the Working Group for Drafting the Law for the Parliament of Montenegro.
